Japanese era name (文治) for the years 1185–1189: 1185 is Bunji 1 (元年) and Bunji 5 is 1189. Bunji (文治) is a Japanese era name (nengō), proclaimed in 1185. Its years are counted in lunar years from the new year before the proclamation: 1185 is Bunji 1 (元年), 1189 its last year, Bunji 5.
