Lobed dish with chased design of a dragon pond, mandarin ducks and fish
Artwork · Anonymous · 8th century · vessel · Hakutsuru Fine Art Museum
A Tang Chinese dish of gilt silver, preserved in Japan: lobed like Sassanian vessels, chased with a pond, ducks and fish to Chinese taste. Such silver vessels may once have graced the table of a Nara aristocrat before they were given to a temple. 1 Mason 2005, p. 50, fig. 53. ↩ Literatur Mason 2005: Penelope E.
