Ōyu Stone Circles

Artwork · Anonymous · c. 1500 BCE–c. 1000 BCE

Two large rings of stones of the Late Jōmon at Ōyu — one about 46 m, the other about 42 m across, 90 m apart — each with an upright stone at the centre and long stones radiating around it; a place of ceremonies and burials beside the village. 1 Mason 2005, p. 21, fig. 14. ↩ Literatur Mason 2005: Penelope E.
